Broadband optical parametric amplification at the communication band with periodically poled lithium niobate pumped by ps-laser pulse

Abstract

We report broadband optical parametric amplification in a periodically poled LiNbO3 crystal. A 20 dB-gain was obtained for a broadband signal at 1580 nm with a 35 ps-pump at a fixed wavelength of 870 nm.
