The Onset of Optical Parametric Generation in Long Periodically-Poled Crystals

Abstract

OPG emission in long periodically-poled MgO:LiNbO3 crystals pumped by a Q-switched Nd:YVO4 laser was characterized. The experimental results obtained for small gain-length product (g0L<10) are in excellent agreement with quantum mechanical model calculations.
