Very high efficiency, high peak power, nanosecond fiber lasers

Abstract

We demonstrated over 50% absolute efficiency in a diffraction limited Q-switched fiber laser producing pulses as short as 6.7ns. 130kW peak and 50W average powers were obtained at repetition rates from 10 to 100kHz.
