Fe:ZnSe and ZnS polycrystalline passive Q-switching of 2.8 µm Er:Cr:YSGG laser

Abstract

Fe:ZnSe and ZnS polycrystals as passive Q-switches for Er:Cr:YSGG lasers operating at 2.8µm are introduced. Samples with 1–7cm−1 absorption coefficients were prepared using thermal diffusion of iron in CVD grown polycrystalline ZnSe and ZnS.
