A self-imaging silicon waveguide Raman amplifier

We propose a novel self-imaging Raman amplifier consisting of collinearly propagating pump and Stokes signal beams in a multimode silicon waveguide. Potential application as an image preamplifier for MWIR remote sensing is discussed.
