Tuning And Q-switching Tm:germanate Fiber Laser

Tm:germanate fiber lasers can tune between 1.88 and 2.04 μm, depending on the length. Optimized pulsed operation yielded thresholds of 62 mJ and slope efficiency of 0.25, even with a low launch efficiency. Q-switching achieved.
