Abstract

Epitaxial layers of Tm-doped KLu(WO4)2 grown on undoped KLu(WO4)2 substrates are longitudinally pumped by a Ti:sapphire laser at 802 nm and tunable (1894–2039 nm) laser operation is achieved with slope efficiencies as high as 64%.
