Abstract

An analytical theory of chirped-pulse-oscillators mode-locked by SESAM is developed and applied to femtosecond Cr-chalcogenide lasers. The positive dispersion regime is shown to be significantly more promising for µJ-level pulse energies than the negative-dispersion regime.
