Sub-two-cycle, self-phase-stabilized mid-infrared pulses generated by four-wave rectification

Abstract

Broadband mid-infrared pulses were generated by four-wave mixing of the fundamental and the second harmonic of ultrashort Ti:sapphire laser pulses. The carrier-envelope phase was passively stabilized and the pulse width was measured as 13 fs.
