High-power Femtosecond Pulse Generation from a Yb-doped Large-Mode-Area Microstructure Fiber Laser

Abstract

We report on a passively mode-locked laser based on a large-mode-area ytterbium-doped microstructure fiber. The laser delivers 3.3 W of average power at 46 MHz repetition rate. These pulses are extra-cavity dechirped to 516 fs.
