Frequency combs generated by stimulated Raman scattering of mode-locked lasers

Abstract

A method to generate a self-referencing multi-octave spanning frequency comb by Raman shifting the output of mode-locked picosecond lasers is proposed. The number of comb modes and the frequency offset can be determined by extrapolation.
