Volume Bragg Grating Tuned Large Mode Area Fiber Laser

Abstract

A narrow linewidth ytterbium-doped large-mode area VBG-tuned fiber laser is demonstrated. The output power was >4.3W (77% slope efficiency) and the tuning range was 33 nm (5 GHz linewidth) with nearly diffraction limited output (M2<1.3).
