10mJ, acousto-optic Q-switched, tunable, diode pumped Tm:YLF laser

Abstract

We report the efficient, acusto–optic Q-switched, tunable, diode pumped Tm:YLF laser. The 1845 − 1935 nm tuning range with 3-nm linewidth was demonstrated in free-running mode. Above 10-mJ energy, 22-ns pulse duration corresponding to peak power near 0.5 MW was achieved in acusto–optic Q-switching regime.
