Ultra High Gain Monolithic Multipass Nd:glass Amplifier

Abstract

A novel scheme for an ultra high gain laser amplifier is presented. It is based on a flashlamp pumped monolithic slab design achieving a gain of 105. The measured ratio between pulse and prepulse output power was 5×107.
