Abstract

Femtosecond mode-locking is investigated for single crystals of the biaxial Yb:YCa4O(BO3)3 and all possible polarization orientations including the self-frequency doubling configuration. Stable mode-locking and bandwidth-limited pulses are achieved with durations down to 76 fs.
