Abstract

Er:Lu2O3 and (Er,Yb):YVO4 provide suitable spectra for CO2-LIDAR systems around 1.6μm. First inband pumped laser experiments show output powers up to 1.26W and slope efficiencies of up to 48% with respect to absorbed pump power.
