Mode-locked all-solid photonic bandgap fiber laser

Abstract

We report on a mode-locked Yb-doped solid photonic bandgap fiber operating in the all-normal dispersion regime. The laser delivers 4ps pulses with 21 nJ energy. These pulses are extra-cavity compressed down to 230 fs.
