Tunable erbium fiber laser using a low-cost, all-fiber multimode interference filter

Abstract

A low-cost tunable all-fiber filter in the telecommunication spectral region, based on multimode interference, is realized. We present a fiber laser with this filter that can be tuned by more than 15 nm in operation.
