Fiber CPA System delivering 2.2 mJ, sub 500 fs pulses with 3.8 GW Peak Power

We report on an ultrashort pulse fiber CPA system that delivers pulses with 2.2 mJ pulse energy. The main amplifier of the system is a 108 µm core diameter Large Pitch Fiber. By SLM-based compensation of the nonlinear phase we achieved sub-500 fs pulses with clean shapes and a resulting peak power as high as 3.8 GW.
