Abstract

Single-frequency ytterbium-doped photonic bandgap fiber amplifier at 1178 nm is reported. 24.6 W power and 320 kHz linewidth radiation, free from amplified spontaneous emission, linewidth broadening, and stimulated Brillouin scattering, was obtained.
