Mode fluctuations in end-pumped passively Q-switched solid-state lasers

Abstract

Axial mode fluctuations in high-energy, passively Q-switched lasers lead to instabilities in pulse energy and beam pointing. Effects of subresonators formed by residual reflection at optical surfaces on axial modes and pulse energy are investigated.
