Study of wave-front distortion in cryogenic Yb:YAG TRAM laser and a novel Coherent Beam Combining (CBC) technique for ultra-high power laser systems

Abstract

We have studied wave-front distortion due to thermal lensing, temperature rise and birefringence of cryogenic Yb:YAG total-reflection active-mirror laser for >100kW ultra-high power laser systems. A novel coherent beam combining technique is also presented.
