Coherent combining of two femtosecond chirped-pulse amplifiers in a passive architecture

Abstract

We demonstrate an architecture allowing passive coherent combination of two fiber femtosecond chirped-pulse amplifiers. The experiment shows that the temporal, spectral, and spatial qualities of each beam are retained, with a combining efficiency of 96%.
