Abstract
In this paper we propose a novel multiwavelength-switchable fiber laser based on a semiconductor optical amplifier and sampled fiber Bragg gratings, using high polarization selectivity of a polarization beam splitter. Multiwavelength-switching operation of five laser lines with 0.8 nm wavelength spacing has been successfully demonstrated at room temperature with the proper control of the polarization state of the cavity light.
