Impact of hydrogen loading on the fabrication of fiber Bragg gratings with ultrafast 800 nm laser radiation

Abstract

Fiber Bragg Gratings were written in hydrogen loaded fiber with ultrafast 800nm radiation. Improvements in fiber photosensitivity in the IR were observed in H2 loaded SMF-28 while no improvement in SiO2 core fibre were observed.
