Nematicon deflection at a voltage controlled dielectric interface

Abstract

We discuss and report refraction and total internal reflection of optical spatial solitons in nematic liquid crystals at the interface between two differently-biased regions, with angular steering as large as –18 and +22 degrees, respectively.
