Spectral Filtering for Ultra-fast Mode-Locking in the Normal Dispersive Regime

Abstract

A new mode-locking model is presented in which nonlinear mode-coupling along with a periodically applied frequency filter is used to achieve femtosecond, stable, passive mode-locking in a normal-dispersion laser cavity.
