Abstract

A fiber Bragg grating with a peak reflectivity of 97% at 3.44 μm was written in a low-loss single-mode As2S3 chalcogenide fiber using 800 nm femtosecond pulses and a phase-mask. This is to our knowledge the first demonstration of such an FBG operating in the Mid-Infrared above 3 µm.
