Wavelength-Selective Mode-Switching in a Reflective Long Period Grating Mach-Zehnder Interferometer

Abstract

We demonstrate that two consecutive long-period-gratings separated by 100mm interfere with high visibility allowing us to switch easily between the core and the cladding mode with a small wavelength shift of 3.2nm, corresponding to a signal switching contrast better than 14dB.
