Abstract

We report, for the first time, the fabrication of waveguide Bragg gratings inside bulk Yb:YAG crystals. Polarized WBGs with > 90% reflectivity are demonstrated. Such WBGs may be used to realize integrated single longitudinal mode waveguide lasers.
