Direct-laser-writing of ultra-long waveguides in coreless optical fibers

Abstract

In this work, we report a direct-laser-writing method, based on the use of a phase-mask, to fabricate long waveguides in coreless optical fibers. Refractive index change can be adjusted by monitoring the writing velocity, the exposure conditions and/or the chemical composition of the coreless optical fiber.
