Abstract
Optical properties, the reduced scattering and absorption coefficients, of biological tissues are measured by two methods; one using an integrating sphere and the other using time-resolved spectroscopy. The results of the two methods are compared and both methods are capable of accurate measurement of the optical properties of biological tissues thin enough for the methods to detect transmittances.
