Monte Carlo simulation of light propagation in the human visual cortex

Abstract

A Monte Carlo method was developed for the simulation of light propagation in arbitrary voxel-based geometry. Measurements on the visual cortex were simulated and the relative pathlengths of light in different tissue types were calculated.
