Abstract
It is proposed that elastic-scattering spectroscopy with mid-IR wavelengths may provide increased sensitivity to nuclear sizes in dysplastic tissue and reduce the scattering effects of smaller organelles. Diffuse light due to multiple-scattering can also be minimized due to the intrinsically high water absorption. This could potentially become a useful tool for characterizing dysplastic tissue.
