Speckle Holography: A Noninvasive Technique for Imaging Nerve Activity

Abstract

Results are presented for a novel optical imaging technology capable of distinguishing between resting and active states of a crayfish ventral nerve based on imaging of the action potential-induced swelling of the nerve’s axons.
