Monte Carlo simulations of time-resolved fluorescence excited in a layered turbid medium

Abstract

We developed an efficient Monte Carlo algorithm to model time- and distance-resolved fluorescence excited in layered tissue in reflectance geometry. The algorithm was applied to two-layered media. Maps of fluorescence generation probability were calculated.
