Depth Selectivity in Time-Domain Optical Brain Imaging Based on Time Windows and Moments of Time-of-Flight Distributions

Abstract

Different approaches to discriminate between cerebral and extracerebral absorption changes are compared by means of diffusion and Monte-Carlo simulations and applied to functional stimulation experiments. The influence of instrument response and signal-to-noise ratio are discussed.
