Abstract

We report the use of a dual-clad optical fiber to conduct quantitative two-photon excited fluorescence measurements in vitro and in vivo inside tumors. The ability to detect nanomolar concentrations of tumor cell targeting nanoparticles with this dual-clad fiber scheme is confirmed. The results indicate that this technique is an appropriate tool to quantify low concentrations of targeted fluorescence probes in vivo in deep tissue.
