Depth-Sensitive Spectroscopic Measurements of Patients with Oral Mucosal Lesions

Abstract

Spectroscopic measurements of 58 patients with oral mucosal lesions are presented and compared with histopathology. The performance of a depth-sensitive fiber optic probe that enables preferential interrogation of epithelial and stromal regions is evaluated.
