GPU accelerated Monte Carlo simulation for 3D photon migration

Abstract

We report a massively parallel Monte Carlo algorithm that can be run on Graphics Processing Units (GPU). Using a low-cost graphics card, it is over 300x faster than the traditional CPU-based simulations.
