Parametric and empirical spectral analysis for non-invasive diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma

Abstract

We compare parametric and empirical principle component analysis approaches to analyze diffuse reflectance spectra for the diagnosis of basal cell carcinoma and show that both approaches achieve comparable sensitivity and specificity of about 90%.
