Optoacoustic Sensor with a Unique Open-cavity Structure

Abstract

We demonstrate the feasibility of fabricating an open optical micro-cavity using a photonic crystal structure in a total-internal-reflection configuration. An optoacoustic sensor has been constructed based on this structure for sensitive, high-frequency ultrasound detection.
