Auto-fluorescence lifetime spectroscopy for prostate cancer detection: an optical biopsy approach

Abstract

We report the use of auto-fluorescence lifetime as a biomarker for prostate cancer diagnosis. 23 human ex-vivo prostates were measured post prostatectomy, and compared with histology. Significant differences in cancer and benign tissue were identified.
