SHG Polarization Microscopy of Structural Differences in Mutated Myofilaments of Fruit Fly Muscles

Abstract

Second harmonic polarization microscopy of indirect flight muscles in mutants of fruit fly was applied to reveal structural changes along the anisotropic bands of sarcomeres based on the nonlinear susceptibility component ratio.
