Abstract

The immense vibrational and electronic nonlinearities of carotenoids are exploited for label-free Coherent anti-Stokes Raman (CARS) and four-wave mixing (FWM) microscopy of live microalgae. Additionally, we present quantitative sub-millimolar imaging of astaxanthin in vitro.
