Scanning Modulation for Speckle Reduction in Visible-light Optical Coherence Tomography of the Human Retina

Abstract

We added rectangular modulation to traditional scan sequences using only a standard galvanometer scanner to reduce speckle in visible-light OCT images. This simple method increased contrast and revealed fine structures in the human retina.
