Abstract

This Trends in Optics and Photonics volume comprises a proceedings of the second Optical Society of America Topical Meeting on Biomedical Optical Spectroscopy and Diagnostics (BOSD), held March 9-11, 1998 at the Sheraton World Resort in Orlando, Florida. The meeting was co-located with the first OSA Topical Meeting on Therapeutic Laser Applications (TLA), whose proceedings are also included in this volume, and the third OSA Topical Meeting on Advances in Optical Imaging and Photon Migration (AOIPM), whose proceedings are published separately. Beginning with the first AOIPM meeting held in 1994, the "Orlando Topical Meetings" have been a resounding success at attracting leading international investigators and state-of-the-art research presentations in the rapidly expanding field of biomedical optics.
