Light scattering from normal and neoplastic cells: FDTD modeling based on quantitative cytology

Abstract

A finite-difference-time-domain model is used to study the influence of morphological features, DNA content, and chromatin texture on light scattering from cells. Realistic cell geometries are generated from quantitative cytological measurements of cervical specimens.
