Detection and Characterization of Breast Tumors by a Laser Pulse Mammograph

Abstract

From time-domain optical mammograms optical properties of tumors were deduced showing a distinctly increased absorption. Concentration of hemoglobin and blood oxygen saturation for the tumor and the surrounding normal breast tissue were derived.
