Determinants of Second Harmonic Generation in live neurons

Abstract

We investigated the possibilities of second harmonic imaging of microtubules clarifying the determinants of the second harmonic generation in live neurons. We used nonlinear microscopy correlated with electron microscopy to evaluate microtubule organization, dynamics and possible artifacts.
